Island Links Collection

When Martina Hamilton discovered ancestral links to the tiny uninhabited Dernish Island off the coast of her native north County Sligo, it led to an exploration of her connections to the past, and a sense of the delicate links we all share between the past present and future. These connections visually evoked and symbolised by old iron mornings on Milk Harbour jetty, by the tidal waters gently looping the island, have lead to the creation of the Island Links Collection in hallmarked sterling silver and gold. Martina’s intention with the collection is that it will help forge and strengthen links and connections between the wearer and the giver, that it will come to embody the idea of connection between families, between lovers, between friends, links that can grow and be added too, handed on, shared between generations.
