summer News for all our friends at home and abroad
Our great friend Leonie Cornelius is an award winning garden designer, Television Presenter, author and journalist.
Many of you will also recognise Leonie as our jewellery model for the Martina Hamilton website.
Leonie has created a balcony show garden for this years Born Bia Bloom in Phoenix Park Dublin,
Named Óir – The Zarbee’s Garden, Leonie has invited Martina to create the sculptural feature for her garden.
Sparks were flying!
Martina was working to a slightly larger scale, at a slightly larger bench, and with slightly larger tools than back in the jewellery studio, creating the golden halo feature for “Óir - The Zarbee’s Garden” from solid steel.
“I really enjoyed working on this project having studied sculpture at ATU Sligo over 30 years ago. I felt I was in my happy place creating this piece.
I would like to thank sculptor John Collins for all his help making the piece in steel, a new experience for me.”
John Collins will be exhibiting his sculptures in the Design and Crafts Council Area, Stand 1, also at Bloom this year.
When visiting Leonie’s garden at Bloom, see if you can spot the ceramic Bee Baths by another creative Sligo friend of Martina’s, Sharlene Kemple.
Placing the gold Halo
And we’re delighted Leonie will be modelling some more petite gold “Halos” from our
Croi Slogan, Shell and Seashore collections during Bloom.
Bloom runs from May 30th Friday, June 3rd.
