A Proud Moment at Showcase Ireland 2026: Honouring Sustainability in Craft

A Proud Moment at Showcase Ireland 2026: Honouring Sustainability in Craft

There’s something quietly powerful about returning to a space that holds promise and possibility. A place where the collective energy of creativity, tradition, and innovation meets. This January, after many years away, we were delighted to return to Showcase Ireland 2026 at the RDS in Dublin, joining makers from every corner of Ireland to share our work, our story, and most importantly, our values.

Showcase Ireland is much more than a trade event; it’s a celebration of Irish craft and design on a national and international stage. Each year, it brings together a community of makers, designers, buyers, and dreamers; united by a shared belief in quality, creativity, and narrative.

This year was particularly special for us: we were awarded the Sustainability Award at the annual Showcase Awards 2026, presented by the Design & Crafts Council Ireland (DCCI). This recognition reflects the heart of who we are; and the path we follow as makers, where responsibility and craftsmanship go hand in hand.

Sustainability by Design

Our award‑winning piece was one that encapsulates everything we hold dear; the Ériu Lab‑Grown Diamond Ring in recycled white gold. This ring is more than a celebration of form and meaning; it is a testament to intentional choices at every stage of its making.

From the start, we set out to ensure that every element of this piece honours our environment:

  • The white gold used is recycled, reducing the need for newly mined metals.

  • Our lab-grown diamond is fully certified, ethically sourced, and offers the same sparkle, fire, and structure as a natural diamond, but with a lighter environmental footprint.

  • In our Sligo workshop, the team works in a space powered by solar energy, harnessing renewable power for every hand-crafted curve and setting.

  • Each ring is handmade to order, minimising waste and avoiding mass production.

  • Even travelling to Showcase Ireland was done sustainably. Our pieces were transported from Sligo to Dublin in our fully electric company van.

Each of these choices may seem small on their own, but together they form something that feels rooted in responsibility, respect, and care.

Why This Matters

In a world where environmental consciousness is no longer optional, sustainability in craft isn’t a trend; it’s an evolution. To be acknowledged for this at an event that champions Irish makers felt deeply meaningful. It’s a reminder that thoughtful design can be as beautiful in principle as it is in practice.

We are immensely grateful to the team at DCCI and to the judges of the Showcase Awards for this recognition. But most of all, we are grateful to every person who supports work that seeks to uplift both craft and conscience.

The Ériu Lab‑Grown Diamond Ring carries mythology, place, and story. But now, it also carries a moment in time that we will always remember.
