“I am extremely proud that my Newgrange collection remains so popular and enduring among our customers. This petite pendant is based on a detail the very first collection I created as a jewellery maker, having finished my degree in sculpture over 30 years ago.

I will never forget, as a sculpture student, visiting Irelands 6000 year old megalithic sites and encountering the motifs and carvings on the stones, realizing in that moment how deep and ancient and profoundly enduring the culture is that informs and sustains me as a person, as a maker and designer.

While my original design emulated the raw stone upon which this triskle symbol was raised, I thought it would be a good idea to create a piece where the ancient triskle was the complete focus, in the way a symbol can be in our minds, or representing something in a culture. ” - Martina Hamilton
