9 carat gold with Cultured Pearl
This pendant by Martina Hamilton represents a fusion between the delicate detail of structures that occur in nature, and the skill and attention to detail of a designer.
The pendant was inspired by a random worn fragment of scallop shell picked up from a rock pool near Streedagh in County Sligo, along Ireland's Wild Atlantic Way.
Martina has used the natural rigid fluting of the shell, weathered down to gentle undulations, as a means to catch and re-emit light, giving these earring a delicate yet radiant iridescence.

About the Shore Collection
A fusion of West of Ireland ruggedness with minimalist oriental aesthetics. Sligo, Sligeach in the Irish language, means “the shelly place”. Powerful Atlantic waves tumble ashore onto wild isolated beaches, bringing fragments of shells in their wake. Martina's journeys to China inspired a blend of the Asian pared back aesthetic with the simplicity of the natural shells.
