Heaven | Circle Pendant | 9 Carat Solid Gold
Heaven | Circle Pendant | 9 Carat Solid Gold
Handmade Solid Gold Irish Designer Circle Pendant, by Martina Hamilton.
This pendant is inspired by the W.B. Yeats poem, “He wishes for the Cloths of Heaven”. Along with the romance of desiring to bring the heavens embroidered cloths to his beloved, the piece also refers to an even more ancient Irish culture, in an utterly modern and elegant design.
This circle of solid gold – an element formed in the very stars - is etched with motifs for the sun, moon and stars that Yeats desired to capture. But the symbols carry and even more timeless relevance as they are modelled on the stone carvings found at Irish neolithic sites such as Newgrange, Knowth and Loughcrew.
Understated subtle styling, contemporary romance, and embodiments of the very beginnings of Irish culture are at the heart of this piece.
Designed and made in the West of Ireland, with love and meaning that crosses all boundaries..
2cm Diameter Piece Hallmarked 9 Carat Gold & solid gold chain.
He Wishes For The Cloths Of Heaven
Had I the heavens' embroidered cloths,
Enwrought with golden and silver light,
The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
Of night and light and the half-light,
I would spread the cloths under your feet:
But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams. - W B Yeats
